The National Debt and What That Means For You

Drew Barnes, CFP®
June 15, 2018

Over the course of many years, there has been headlines about our nation’s increasing debt, which can cause anxiety and cause concern over the economy’s stability from an investor’s perspective. From the real estate crisis in the 1980’s, to increased spending during times of war - by human instinct and media persuasion - there tends to be a negative perception on “spending and debt”.

Our National Debt | M.J. Smith and Associates

We’re here to explain otherwise, giving you confidence in our economy’s current state. In our latest video, M.J. Smith & Associate’s President Mark Smith, Chief Operating Officer, Operation Manager, RJFS,  Tom Jacobsen and Financial Consultant Drew Barnes walk us through the impact of our nation’s debt as investors plan for retirement and accumulating wealth.

Debt is part of our national economic process and it’s our hope that after watching this video you will have a better understanding of key economic terms, bring the current context of deficit spending into better focus, and draw positive correlations between consumer vs. national debt.

As always, we are here to help answer any of your questions.  Feel free to contact us today and we’d be happy to set up a complimentary meeting to discuss this information more with you.
