Why did you choose this profession?
I excelled at numbers in high school. I knew when I went to college that I wanted to go into engineering or finance, but I don’t have an engineer’s personality. It was easy for me to find my footing in financial services. I like analyzing how one can grow throughout their financial journey.
Being an apprentice at First Western Trust opened my eyes to what I wanted to do in my career. Working with people and numbers, finding creative solutions to help people find comfort, and then seeing them reach that point of understanding is rewarding. I’m looking forward to 35 years in this profession.
What do you enjoy about working with clients?
Service started for me in the church and at Boy Scouts through volunteering. Today, I still love interacting with people from all walks of life. I enjoy being able to clearly educate clients about their finances. It’s rewarding when clients get to that place where they are less nervous or afraid because the information is delivered in a way that helps them understand the how or why of it. That’s what this job is at its core.
If we ran into you on the weekend, you’d be…
With my wife, Ellycia, son, Cooper, and our dog, Thor. We like to hike, fish, camp in our RV, and spend time with our family and friends. We’re also active in our church.
I am a huge Buffs fan. I attend nearly every CU home football game.
